TNT has picked up Dick Wolf’s unscripted TV show, Cold Justice, for a third year. Season two is currently airing and season three will kick off sometime next year.

A TV show devoted entirely to showing nothing but online videos is now the No. 1 syndicated new show in the nation. You may have seen RightThisMinute on HLN or one of your local channels: It’s on most Cox, Scripps and Raycom stations coast to coast and will soon be syndicated throughout about 91 percent of the country.

The show gets over 2 million viewers for each half-hour episode. Comparing some of the long-standing syndicated shows like the ever popular Judge Judy to RTM is like comparing apples to oranges, but it’s more popular than new shows with big names like Bethany and also Queen Latifah’s new talk show.

Credit where it’s due:  Sarah Palin, who has just announced the launch of her subscription-based online video channel, is one of the most skilled, and resilient, TV stars of the past decade.

After her resignation as governor of Alaska in 2009, Palin pivoted seamlessly to television, where she served in an official capacity as a Fox News contributor and in an unofficial capacity as a shameless entertainer ready to take any gig; she showed up in the audience of “Dancing With the Stars” week after week as her daughter competed, and guest-hosted “Today.” She had her own reality show on TLC, too. But no matter how often and widely she touted her on-air persona, her particular brand of charisma proved a little too spiky to really work in established TV contexts.

Let’s Make This Official: The Post-Credit Scenes Aren’t Part of Marvel Movies

Guardians of the Galaxy comes out this weekend and according to director James Gunn, audiences who see it opening night will be the first to glimpse the post-credits tease at the end of the film, whatever it may be. Logic suggests it will have something to do with Avengers: Age of Ultron, the next Marvel movie, but perhaps it will look even further ahead, much as the last Avengers movie did in setting up the villain Thanos (who then wasn’t even cast for two years). Perhaps Gunn directed this teaser, perhaps not; but the fact that it hasn’t been included in any preview screenings suggests that it doesn’t have much to do with the film it’s attached to. So can we finally all admit that these things aren’t really part of any movie and instead just serve as artful little ads?
