Katie Holmes was almost Piper on Orange Is the New Black? Olivia Wilde was almost Marissa Cooper on The O.C.?! That's right! Some of the biggest celebs in Hollywood were thisclose to being cast on some of the most popular TV shows of our time.

Now it’s DC Entertainment’s turn to plant the flag on dates for untitled superhero movies through 2020.

Warner Bros. on Wednesday announced dates for nine new DC movies, starting in 2016, giving the studio two DC-based properties in theaters each year, beginning with”Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” out March 25, 2016.

When you've been at this as long as I have — writing about movies, that is — you occasionally find yourself on a treadmill of repetition. This is one of those times.

Last week I went to “Guardians of the Galaxy” and something about the movie really bugged me (if I may lapse into the jargon of my youth).

Today, Warner Bros. took a machine gun to the movie release calendar and shot flags into 11 dates spread over the next six and a half years. Germain has written about the majority of those dates, which are for big DC Comic book superhero movies. I thought it was important to focus on the other two dates, which are both marked as “Untitled WB Event Film”. But we think we know what these dates might be — more Harry Potter movies. Lets look closer at the possible Fantastic Beasts movies after the jump.

Profit and Revenue Fell in Quarter; Filmed Entertainment Down on Lack of Releases

Viacom Inc. VIAB -1.79% said its fiscal third-quarter earnings fell 5.1% as a revenue decline in the media company's filmed entertainment business dragged down the top line and the cable networks unit logged tepid growth.

Recently, I started looking into the explosively popular new game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. The game has ranked at or near the top of Apple’s U.S. App Store charts for the most downloaded free game.

The British comedy actor James Corden has been signed up as host of CBS’s late-night talk show, according to reports on Tuesday.

The Wrap said Corden would take over The Late Late Show from Craig Ferguson, who announced earlier this year that he would be stepping down.

FX’s Kelsey Grammer-Martin Lawrence comedy “Partners” got off to a pretty modest start on Monday, averaging a little over 1 million viewers for its two episodes.

WICHITA, Kan. – A child crying on the television show Game of Thrones jogged a foster parent’s memory that he had left a 10-month-old girl inside a sweltering car while he and his partner smoked marijuana at their house, a police affidavit released Monday says.

Seth Jackson, 29, is charged with first-degree murder in the July 24 death in Wichita. No charges have been filed against his partner.
