Johnson is expected to make an appearance outside the ballpark at some point Monday.

Actor Reveals How He’s Found Success in Hollywood Without Compromising His Faith and Values

Actor David Henrie, who has appeared in well-known TV shows like “Wizards of Waverly Place” and “How I Met Your Mother,” has figured out how to be successful in Hollywood without compromising his faith and values.

Henrie recently told TheBlaze’s Billy Hallowell and Raj Nair on their “Freefall” podcast that growing up as an actor doesn’t have to mean falling into the industry’s many temptations — and that taking one’s career seriously will yield success.

“I think the people in Hollywood who take their sort of abilities more seriously and who are always working on their craft or trying to be the best that they can with what they’ve been given, those are always the most successful people cause they don’t buy into the whole lifestyle that goes along with it,” Henrie said.

It's reported that the Reds, who have cash to burn following the sale of Luis Suarez, have made the first step down the road to signing Isco but there is still a long, long way to go before a deal is done.

Court: Hoffman Didn't Want 'Trust Fund' Kids

NEW YORK (AP) — Court documents show Philip Seymour Hoffman rejected his accountant’s suggestion that he set aside money for his three children because he didn’t want them to be ‘‘trust fund’’ kids.

The New York Post (http://bit.ly/1ntwUa9 ) says the children’s court-appointed lawyer recently interviewed the actor’s accountant, David Friedman.

In a July 18 filing in Manhattan Surrogate Court, Friedman recalled conversations with Hoffman where the topic of a trust for his children was raised. He said Hoffman wanted his estimated $35 million fortune to go his longtime partner and the children’s mother, Mimi O'Donnell.

Classical review: Doric String Quartet, Auckland Town Hall

Aucklanders should have been queueing to hear such fresh and zesty Haydn, Korngold and Schumann.

The Doric String Quartet's Town Hall concert fully deserved the crowd that Auckland mustered for Saturday's Tristan und Isolde. Here was a top-notch ensemble, playing music that should have been familiar from its well-received CDs.

Once again, too many empty seats left one lamenting this city's resistance to the high-quality concerts that Chamber Music New Zealand so valiantly brings us.

Kelsey Grammer talks about joining Martin Lawrence in FX comedy 'Partners'

Kelsey Grammer and and Martin Lawrence walk into a courtroom ...

The premise that could very well be a TMZ story is actually the hook of the new FX comedy, "Partners," starring the two TV veterans. In the new series, which premieres Aug. 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the duo star as two Chicago lawyers who form an unlikely partnership after meeting in court.

Grammer understands that his teaming up with Lawrence seemed just as unlikely and confusing--that's part of the fun, he said.

"That's the genesis of it," he told The Times on Sunday during a party hosted by Fox/FX for the Television Critics Assn. press tour.  "You couldn't get more disparate worlds and yet it's comedy gold. At least, that's what we hope it turns out to be."

TCA: Wilting Of Big Screen Romantic Comedies Discussed At Fox Comedy Panel

With the $15 million weekend opening of Sex Tape serving as exhibit A, it would be an understatement to say that romantic feature comedies have been in a sling creatively and at the B.O. for sometime.  But for those TV creators who love the genre at Fox’s “Behind the Laughs” TCA panel, if romantic comedies are alive, then it’s on the small screen with such shows as Elizabeth Meriwether’s New Girl and Mindy Kaling’s The Mindy Project. Chalk the death of romantic comedy movies up to the staling of set premises like the sexy wedding planner who can’t get anybody or, as Kaling pointed out, “Matthew McConaughey falling into a cake.”

“They are so predictable, but that’s why I love them so much. I think they can be good, but they’ve been suffering for so long.  I think the easiest way to your voice out there (for romantic comedies) is TV,” said Kaling whose next season of The Mindy Project dotes on her character’s relationship with long-love Danny (Chris Messina).

The four-sum round-up of news using comedy

Imagine Islamic gender roles were switched, so that it is the women who are instead allowed to marry four men!

Just imagine watching the men competing for their wife’s attention, while she walks with her head high like a goddess! Let’s say three of these co-husbands were Sheik Nuhu Muzaata, Mubarak Munyagwa and Odonga Otto, what kind of home would you expect?

This hard-to-imagine scenario was the ice breaker at the quarterly Newspaper heatre comedic production at the National Theatre last Friday. The production by a comedy group called The Foursum took on issues reported in the newspaper in the last three months. They were spiced up with comical ingredients that left revellers cracking.

Paul Casserly: Racist comedy - what are the rules?

Paul Casserly examines the rules around race-based comedy shows like Chris Lilley's Jonah From Tonga.
I laughed out loud many times during the first episode of the school yard comedy Jonah from Tonga, even as I wondered if the mad genius of Chris Lilley may have gone to the same well one time too many. He may have also crossed some line or other.

Actually, it's one in particular. It's a line that is clearly seen by many. It's marked in bold letters: WHITE MEN SHOULD NOT DO BLACKFACE. Or in the case of the comedy currently showing on Comedy Central: WHITE MEN SHOULD NOT DO BROWNFACE.

Weird Al Throws Up on Christian Slater, Sits Next to Steve Buscemi in “Lame Claim to Fame”

Perhaps the most surprising story of the past week has been the comeback of “Weird Al” Yankovic, the novelty-song genius who has delighted fans with a canny Internet stunt: a new music video, every day, from new album Mandatory Fun. His latest from that record, “Lame Claim to Fame,” is a particularly amusing Southern-rock riff on celebrity name-dropping and the “six degrees of separation” craze.

Richard Sherman, Seahawks draw 22,033 fans for celebrity softball game benefiting Blanket Coverage

It was a star-studded Sunday at Seattle's Safeco Field, where Seahawks joined local and national celebrities in the second-annual softball game benefiting Richard Sherman's Blanket Coverage foundation.

It's not how you start, but how you finish.

That Pete Carroll-ism was true for Seahawks cover man Richard Sherman on Sunday afternoon at Safeco Field, where he scored what amounted to be the winning run and recorded the final out at his celebrity softball game benefiting his Blanket Coverage foundation.

More than 22,000 fans turned out for the second-annual event, which last year was held at Tacoma's Cheney Stadium. A portion of the game's proceeds went to the All-Pro corner's charity, which provides school supplies and clothing to low-income communities across America.

Is Misfits star Lauren Socha bound for the Celebrity Big Brother house?

If you can’t get enough of Big Brother then worry not – if the rumours are to be believed the beds will barely be cold from the current series before a new batch of celebrity housemates install themselves in less than a month.

Speculation is still rife as to who will be breaking bread together in the new series, but Misfits star Lauren Socha is thought to have signed up, along with Britain’s Got Talent finalist Lettice Rowbotham.

Lauren, who stars as Kelly Bailey in the hit E4 comedy, is thought to be keen to show a more gentle side to her nature.

When the game is on the line, T.J. Oshie certainly knows how to make winning look easy.

On the green, however, the St. Louis Blues forward looked anything but elegant.

While in Lake Tahoe this weekend for the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship, Oshie's first-round struggles were highlighted by an agonizing four-putt from seven feet away. It was almost painful to watch as he turned an opportunity for a birdie into a double bogey.

Breanna Stewart, her celebrity swelling, has stories to tell from the ESPY Awards

Syracuse, N.Y. — Breanna Stewart has long been a Kevin Durant fan. So last week, when she and her parents visited Los Angeles for the ESPY Awards, the former Cicero-North Syracuse star figured she might meet the Oklahoma City Thunder big man.

Alas, her own celebrity prevented that from happening.

"This was my problem," she said. "Right when he was coming in on the red carpet, I had my interview on ESPN."

That interview, unbeknownst to Stewart, would culminate with the presentation of her award for Best Female College Athlete. It occurred on the red carpet during events preceding the actual awards ceremony. And it took Stewart by surprise.

The truth behind this man’s viral video featuring 29 celebrity impressions

Back in early July, WGN showed you a clip of Los Angeles singer Rob Cantor doing an amazing impression of 29 different famous singers, all singing a song that he wrote.

Millions and millions of people on the internet loved it.

It turns out, Rob wasn’t really doing those amazing vocal impersonations.

Weird Al Makes Fun of Celebrity Name-droppers in ‘Lame Claim to Fame’

It's day seven of Weird Al Week (which has already brought us parodies of "Happy," "Blurred Lines," "Royals," and "Fancy"), and we have a song in the style of the more obscure Southern Culture on the Skids. Shot as a stop-motion pop-up book, Weird Al lays claim to all the ways "he" is marginally famous: He threw up in an elevator with Christian Slater; he shares the same birthday as Kim Kardashian (we looked it up: not true). The best line? "I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows guy who knows Kevin Bacon."

Box-office report: 'Apes' counterattacks, 'Purge' taken down a peg

Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s… After a Friday night showdown that heavily tipped the scales in favor of the survival-horror thriller The Purge: Anarchy, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes came back strong this weekend to take the No. 1 spot at the box office.

The Apes sequel, starring motion-capture master Andy Serkis as the hyper-evolved higher primate named Caesar, collected $36 million for the weekend, according to Sunday estimates. Meanwhile, The Purge: Anarchy, a follow-up to last year’s nightmare-inducer about a 12-hour period when no crime is illegal, garnered only $28.3 million.

Rob Reiner talks about making movies for grown-ups

Over three decades, his films have included farce (“This is Spinal Tap”), fantasy (“The Princess Bride”), thriller (“Misery”) and courtroom drama (“A Few Good Men”).

But there is also a long line of romance in the two dozen films directed by Rob Reiner, a recurring theme of imperfect coupling leading to a lasting bond.

“I’ve done a few,” Reiner says, easing onto a couch in a Georgetown hotel suite, as rumpled and comfortable-looking as he was when he was an actor on TV’s top show in the ’70s.

What Are These New Untitled Marvel Mystery Movies?

With the release of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, and Captain America 3 in the upcoming years, Marvel Studios will close out Phase Two and start Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The billion-dollar movie franchise is at full steam without showing any signs of slowing down.

Marvel recently announced a handful of new movie release dates for “Untitled Marvel Movies” with only dates and no titles. Of course, Marvel is famous for announcing release dates without actual movies attached, only as a way to confirm the dates, rather than announce actual movies. They are “placeholder” release dates and only prove that Marvel knows exactly what they’re doing in building a cinematic universe.

Hollywood sequels: Everything old is new again

"HAS there ever been a summer of 23 sequels before?" asks The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy. (We here, writing for the older masses, are ever-grateful to the lush-looking Reporter for keeping us so ably up to date.)

Reporter McCarthy goes on: "The praised 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' proves that Hollywood's lackluster history of second acts can actually pay off.

...Doesn't Hollywood's ever-increasing devotion to remaking, rebooting and otherwise leeching off popular and once-fresh properties bespeak a prevailing corporate timidity and poverty of imagination? Do we really just want to see the same old characters enact variations on the same rituals time and time again?

Fall — and Fate — Are a Mystery for Fox (Analysis)

The shows and the scheduling were done by someone not in that job anymore. It's too late to make massive — or possibly even minor — course corrections. It's wait-and-see time.

Peter Rice, CEO of the Fox Network Group, came to TCA on Sunday and effortlessly nailed the executive session (which some are terrified to do, while others approach it as an exercise in being vague, etc.) and answered the questions he could with frankness and mostly took a stab at others where he didn't want to say for certain either way. It was surprisingly informative for a session that could have been 45 minutes of Rice saying we'd have to ask Dana Walden and Gary Newman, who were hired to run the Fox network like five minutes earlier and thus weren't available to answer our questions.

Actor-Politician Fred Thompson Notes Being Conservative In Hollywood Is 'A Tougher Road to Travel'

Fred Thompson, a former senator and presidential candidate who returned to an acting career,  granted an interview to The Hollywood Reporter to promote his new movie “Persecuted,” the story of a televangelist framed for murder by powerful government officials.

Thompson acknowledges that conservatives in Hollywood have “a tougher road to travel” and try not to advertise their political views:
