Tom Ballard says ABC's Reality Check is 'for people who hate reality TV, or love it'
Australians are expert at jumping on fads. Not for nothing are we known as one of the world’s biggest consumers of reality TV.
Little wonder, perhaps, that since Big Brother arrived 13 years ago, some 150 reality TV shows have lined up outside Australian homes. Australians may think MasterChef was a local invention, but we’re only one of 41 global copies. There are 56 different versions of Got Talent out there, 49 international Big Brother houses and 48 versions of Survivor. And 42 countries are pumping out X-Factor.
But nobody ever bothered to guide viewers through the maze of reality TV.

The Kannada film industry is staring at one of its biggest internal crises till date. It is not a fresh one and has been brewing for the last few years ever since film stars started hosting television shows and participating in TV shows competitions.
2013 was particularly harsh for exhibitors, distributors and producers with two of the top stars of Sandalwood, Sudeep and Puneeth, hosting TV shows all the seven days of the week for months together. This year, Bigg Boss 2, hosted by Sudeep and Weekend with Ramesh Aravind by Ramesh Aravind, are already on air.
Captain America 3 Screenwriters Want Modok For Future Marvel Movies
One major reason why we’re brazenly optimistic about Marvel’s announced Captain America 3 is that the team behind this year’s successful Captain America: The Winter Soldier will stay in place to guide the path of our nation’s proudest warrior. Instead of starting cold, the team of Anthony and Joe Russo (directors) -- as well as screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely – can pick up where they left off with Steve Rogers, and continue to expand on his recently shaken up world. What plans do they have in mind?
Daniel Radcliffe: Action movies lack good storylines
Hollywood star Daniel Radcliffe has criticised today's action movies - saying that they are not being made as well as they used to be.
The actor said that he used to enjoy blockbuster action films such as Die Hard, starring Bruce Willis, and The Matrix, featuring Keanu Reeves.
But the former Harry Potter star, set to appear in new rom-com What If, complained that the films were now formulaic and lacked decent stories.

Warner Bros. is reportedly developing two different 'Aquaman' movies
And so Warner Bros’ incipient superhero universe continues its aggressive expansion. The Hollywood Reporter claims the studio is currently developing an Aquaman movie—a movie that will likely star Jason “Khal Drogo” Momoa and which is something we should all theoretically be looking forward to, because Aquaman is a cool character, and everyone who thinks Aquaman is a lame character is themselves lame and should be punished by getting forcefully Clockwork Orange‘d through a full-series Entourage marathon.
Maps: Each state’s most torrented movies, TV shows and games
Over the past decade or so, torrenting has emerged as one of the most popular means of illegally (and sometimes legally) downloading games, movies and television shows. So, naturally, trends in that form of peer-to-peer file sharing reflect the interests of what at least one slice of the population—those willing to violate copyright laws—is interested in at any given moment in time.

Hollywood's Calendar Clog-Up: What's Behind a Rush of Mystery Movies
Marvel vs. DC? That's just the beginning as more than 20 superhero pics head to theaters by 2020 and a studio "pissing contest" hits comical heights
Hollywood always has played its version of the dating game, announcing release dates for big movies as early as two years in advance. But suddenly studios have upped the ante, plopping dozens of "untitled" projects on dates until 2020 so no studio knows quite what its rivals are up to. "It's a pissing contest," says box-office analyst Phil Contrino. "I don't think it's great for the industry as a whole. You want to see diversity in the release calendar instead of everything being scooped up for tentpoles."Stars Come Out for Al Franken: How He’s Cashing In on Hollywood

Graham: Gossip, however innocent, is always harmful
Dear Rev. Graham: For years some friends and I have gotten together for lunch every month or so, and I've always enjoyed it. But recently it seems like all we do is gossip, and not always in flattering ways. I've grown uncomfortable with this, but what can I do? -- Mrs. L.W.
Rev. Graham: I'm thankful you've grown uncomfortable with this, because gossip never helps anyone; in fact, it always hurts. No wonder the Bible condemns those who are "gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not" (1 Timothy 5:13, NKJV).

The idea is innovative if only for its simplicity.
Why send people around the globe to promote tourism when you can just sit in one spot and let the tourists come to you?

Fallon: Williams the 'Muhammad Ali of comedy'
Before getting into Tuesday night's show, Jimmy Fallon took a few minutes to remember Robin Williams. The Tonight Show host choked up a bit as he said, "If you never saw the guy's stand-up, you need to YouTube it right now. He was amazing. He was funny. He was fast. He would weave in and out of characters …" And rather than try to explain it, Fallon gave a pretty convincing impression of the manic comic.
Why Robin Williams's true genius lay in his weird and wonderful comedy
The actor could steal the show in mainstream movies, but it was the crazy, manic riffs and improvisations of his early standup days that made him a unique talent
