Frankie Bridge first celebrity confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing line-up 2014

 

Singer revealed dancing contest involvement during an appearance on BBC Breakfast

Frankie Bridge is the first celebrity to be confirmed for the line-up for Strictly Come Dancing 2014.

She made the announcement this morning, during an appearance on BBC Breakfast with her fellow bandmates from The Saturdays.

“I’m such a huge fan of Strictly! I’ve always wanted to be a part of the show – it looks like so much fun and the costumes are just gorgeous” said Frankie.

“Like so many little girls, I used to take dance lessons when I was in primary school and I really love dancing but this is going to be so different from anything I have done with The Saturdays. I just can’t wait to get started!” she continued.
The 25 year-old, known as Frankie Sandford until her marriage to footballer Wayne Bridge last month, is no stranger to the spotlight.

She shot to fame at the age of 12 with the young pop group S Club Juniors. By the age of 16, she had amassed six top-ten singles with the group.
In 2007, Frankie successfully auditioned for a new girl-band, The Saturdays. As part of the five-piece girl group she has  had four top-ten albums and thirteen top-ten singles, including hits such as Ego, Issues, Missing You and their first number one single, What About Us.
Frankie was born in Upminster. She and Wayne have a baby son called Parker, who was born in October 2013.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this autumn and will see Frankie compete against 14 other celebrities for the coveted glitter ball trophy. Keep up with the latest line-up rumours here.
