“Masterpiece Mystery!” (9 p.m., PBS): David Suchet begins his final episodes as “Hercule Poirot” in the popular series. Tonight, the master sleuth navigates international intrigues while investigating the shocking death of a Russian chess grandmaster.
“Masters of Sex” (10 p.m., Showtime): The second season continues with an episode that has Virginia (Lizzy Caplan) learning about Masters’ (Michael Sheen) troubled childhood during a secret rendezvous at a hotel.

Players to stage Shakespeare in park
YOUNGSTOWN
The Mahoning Valley Players, Youngstown’s only free summer theater, celebrates its fourth year with a production of William Shakespeare’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Morley Pavilion in Mill Creek MetroParks.
Directed by Elizabeth Conrad, this piece takes the classic work of Shakespeare and turns it on its head, with a high-concept vision.
Performances take place Aug. 1 and 2 at 6 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
