Liverpool FC transfer gossip: Odds slashed on Reus bid; Reds hope to tie up Bony; Jay Rodriguez an alternative; Kalou waits on Reds

Skybet have slashed the odds on a possible bid from Liverpool FC for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus.

The betting giant reacted after a flurry of Twitter rumours concerning a £45m move to Anfield for the 25-year-old German star.

A tweet from a Spanish journalist suggested the Brendan Rodgers could make a big money move for Reus after Luis Suarez completed a £75m move to Barcelona.

Liverpool are hoping to follow the signing of Lazar Markovic by completing a £20m move for Swansea City forward Wilfried Bony, reports the Daily Telegraph .

The Ivorian scored 25 goals for the South Wales side last season and Rodgers believes he could be the perfect player to replace Suarez.

Rodgers will open talks with his former club after completing the formalities of Markovic's move to Anfield.

Should the Reds be unable to make a deal for Bony, Rodgers could instead move for Southampton's Jay Rodriguez, according to the Daily Mail .

Rodriguez is out injured until October but that won't put off the Liverpool boss who is intent on adding more firepower to his forward line.

The former Burnley man scored 15 Premier League goals for the Saints last term.

Former Chelsea striker Soloman Kalou is stalling on a move to Roma in order to explore the possibility of a move back to the Premier League.

Liverpool could be interested in a £3m move for the 28-year-old, according to the Daily Mirror .

Roma thought they had tied up a deal for the striker and Galatasaray are also keen - but a move back to England still remains a possibility.
