Comedy Central Renews ‘Drunk History,’ ‘Nathan For You’

It must be happy hour somewhere.

Comedy Central announced Friday that it has given third season orders to both “Drunk History” and “Nathan For You.”

The news was announced by Kent Alterman, Comedy Central’s president of content development and original programming, who also was on hand at Montreal’s Just for Laughs festival to present “Nathan For You’s” Nathan Fielder with the Breakout Comedy Star of the Year Award.

“Is there any comedy well deeper to draw from than history and business marketing?,” asked Alterman in a statement, referring to the former’s focus on assembling a cast of characters to reenact an inebriated narrator’s tale of historical events and the latter’s parodies on the corporate consulting world with campaigns like Dumb Starbucks.

“Drunk History” is executive produced by Derek Waters, Jeremy Konner, along with Gary Sanchez Productions’ Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy and Owen Burke. “Nathan For You,” produced by Abso Lutely Productions, is executive produced by Fielder, Michael Koman and Dave Kneebone.

The third seasons for each series will premiere in 2015.
