Former colleagues and friends of former Radio 1 presenter Mike Smith have taken to Twitter to pay their respects following his premature death at the age of 59.

Smith, who was married to former children’s TV star Sarah Greene for 25 years, was well-known in the media world and had regular slots on shows including Top of the Pops.
