MARCUS Tudgay could be close to securing himself a new club, after being handed a trial by League One Coventry.
The 31-year-old striker was released by Forest at the end of the season, as new boss Stuart Pearce allowed all of the club’s out of contract players to leave.
Tudgay had made 47 starts and 21 sub appearances after initially signing on loan, from Sheffield Wednesday, in November 2010.

He subsequently made a permanent switch, for £500,000, and netted 14 goals for the Reds.
Tudgay had been allowed out on loan to Barnsley and Charlton in recent seasons.
But he will now hope to extend his career with the Sky Blues, with boss Steven Pressley hoping to bolster his front line with four new front men.
Shaun Miller has already arrived on a one-year contract, after he had been released by Sheffield United and now Tudgay has been training with the club for the last few days, with a view to securing a deal of his own.
And Pressley said: “I want a minimum of three new strikers and it maybe that we get four in all.”
In the meantime, Watford and Leeds are both keen on former Forest transfer target Luciano Becchio.
The 30-year-old Argentine has found his opportunities limited with Norwich City and they are looking to trim their squad after finding themselves top heavy with strikers.
Becchio made his name in English football with Leeds, making 190 appearances at Elland Road, while netting 75 goals.
But, while the Yorkshire club are keen on bringing the striker back to familiar territory, they are likely to face opposition from the Hornets, who are also interested.
Another former Forest striker, Ishmael Miller, is at risk of seeing a potential move to Doncaster collapse.
Miller is another player who is a free agent, after being released by the Reds – and had held talks with Rovers boss Paul Dickov.
But the 27-year-old is yet to agree to a deal and Dickov says he will only wait so long.
“He is someone we’ve spoken about,” said Dickov. “Ishmael, at the minute, is looking to get Championship football.
“We’ll be patient to a point. We’re not going to wait on answers for players so they can try and find something better. With certain players we have put deadlines on it.”
