Liverpool FC transfer gossip: Borini move to Black Cats back on; Agger edges closer to Barca; Swans at odds over Bony

Fabio Borini’s move from Liverpool to Sunderland could be back on, according to the Daily Mail.
The Italian, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Stadium of Light last season, was the subject of a £14m bid from the Black Cats earlier this month. When it was accepted, it appeared Borini was on his way to Sunderland - but instead he joined the Reds on their summer tour to America, only to injure his shoulder and return to the UK.

Although the injury is a complicating factor, the Mail reports Borini has since spoken to Sunderland while boss Gus Poyet remains keen to sign the 23-year-old.

Daniel Agger is nearing a move to Barcelona, according to The Independent.

A fee of £12m has reportedly been agreed between the Reds and the Catalan giants, with the Spanish media suggesting a deal could be completed within a week.

Barca are searching for a replacement for Carlos Puyol, who has retired, while Agger’s first-team chances at Anfield look to have been reduced by the arrival of Dejan Lovren.

Meanwhile, The Express report that Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins is at odds with boss Garry Monk over the future of reported Liverpool target Wilfried Bony.

Monk suggested that Bony was not for sale despite interest from the Reds and Tottenham, but Jenkins seems more open to the idea of the striker moving for the right price.

He told TalkSport: "Wilfried Bony is a fantastic professional. If a top Champions League club comes in, and puts the right offer on the table, then of course we will speak to him."
